Chickpea Dahl Recipe
This chickpea dahl recipe is great when it’s still a bit chilly outside. The blend of spices will bring your warmth and comfort.

- 1 can chickpeas drained
- 1 can chopped tomatoes
- 1 cup red lentils
- 1 can coconut milk
- 1 medium onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp curry
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper
- Coriander to serve
Dice the onion and mince the garlic. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan.
When it's hot, add the onion, and stir for a few minutes, until softened. Add the garlic, fry for a minute. Add all the spices and stir for a minute.
Pour all the cans of chopped tomatoes, chickpeas and coconut milk, as well as the lentils, in the saucepan. Season to taste. Stir well, and reduce to low heat.
Leave to cook for 20-25 minutes stirring from time to time to ensure the dahl doesn't stick to the pan.
Once it's ready, serve with some coriander.
